I'll agree, its not a fun part, especially as of recent. Ac black flag is an old game, the story is meh and the only good thing about it is the naval combat, maybe u should get it if u're interested in the kenways' story, but since it's ur first ac ever, I recommend origins, it's good as a standalone game, cool graphics, cool world and it's a fun game. While Bayek’s story is him working towards eventually forming the order that becomes the Assassins and as such has more realistic combat that focuses on the hidden blade, the Misthios gets to teleport around the battlefield and fire off a dozen explosive arrows at once. I get hate for saying that but to me it's just not the fun part of the games. The hidden blade feels like a played out staple at this point so I'm glad they're trying something different.
